Objective – Overview Forum

The Biomass Regional Forum is a new series of events organized by the Hellenic Biomass Development Company (HELLABIOM) on an annual basis. Aim of the Forum is to bring into direct contact and networking businesses, local government, academic and research institutions, agricultural and forestry cooperatives, energy communities, logistics managers, machine owner-operators project, forestry and agricultural machinery, biomass producers and in general all actors of the biomass value chain.

The 1st Regional Biomass Forum on "Bioenergy and Sustainable Forest Management" focuses on the role of forest biomass utilization for the production of bioenergy, wood products, solid biofuels – pellets, biocoal – biochar and bioeconomy products, in order to mitigate the effects of climate change on the country's forest ecosystems.

The event is organized in collaboration with the Austrian Embassy in Athens, the Commercial Department ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA and Austrian Biomass Association and consists of two distinct units, the day (Tuesday 14 May 2024) and the visits (Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 May 2024). Participation in each of these sections is carried out without financial burden for the delegates and is realized thanks to the kind sponsorship of the companies - members of HELLABIOM. electronic registration is required for each section separately.

Conference

On Tuesday, May 14th, 2024 the Conference will take place in Larissa which will include:

Speeches by Austrian experts who will present the corresponding model of forest biomass utilization in Austria.
Short presentations of Greek and Austrian companies and organizations.
B2B meetings in order to explore the possibility of cooperation between companies of the two countries.
