In the context of the operation of the Master's Program entitled "Advanced Design, Technology & Management of Wooden Products" with the following three (3 ) specializations: a) Product Design, b) Technology & Construction and c) Management & Marketing, of the Department of Forestry, Wood Sciences & Design of Faculty of Technology of the University of Thessaly, according to the 24/28.5.2020 (Subject 5o) decision of the Department Assembly and the Official Gazette 1975/22.5.2020, the B re-establishment of the PMS, interested parties are invited to apply for admission to it, for the Academic Year 2020-2021.

The following are admitted to MSc: a) University graduates, graduates of the Department of Design & Wood & Furniture Technology of the former TEI of Thessaly or a related specialty, b) Graduates of Polytechnic Schools, Graduates of Positive Sciences, Economics, Management, Marketing, c) Graduates of other University Departments ( Universities or TEIs) with a relative relevance to the subject of the above-mentioned M.A. which are judged by the competent committee for the selection of postgraduate students, d) Graduates of universities abroad, in a relevant specialty, after presenting the equivalence of their degree from the competent body.

Registrations at MSc take place on the second 15th of September 2020, while the courses will start at the beginning of October 2020 and will take place in the building facilities of the Department of Forestry, Wood Sciences & Design in Karditsa, in the Greek language. The course schedule is implemented every Friday (afternoon) and Saturday, in order to facilitate working students who are far away from Karditsa.

The MSc is offered on a full-time basis and the duration of the studies is defined in three (3) academic semesters. The 3th semester is offered for the preparation of the postgraduate thesis. In order to obtain the Postgraduate Diploma, it is necessary to attend and pass an examination in ten (10) courses and then to prepare the Postgraduate Thesis.

The maximum number of students who will be accepted into this program for the 2020-21 academic year is thirty (30).

Also, those interested must submit during this period to the Secretariat of the MSc (V. Griva 11-13, 43100 – Karditsa) in person or send a registered envelope with the following supporting documents by post:

  1. Photocopy of identity.
  2. Complete and up-to-date curriculum vitae, which will include information on the candidates' studies, scientific and professional activity.
  3. Copies of degrees and transcripts (or Diploma Supplements) or a declaration that they are expected to graduate 10 days before the start of classes.
  4. Certificate of recognition and parity from the DOATAP (for those coming from Universities abroad).
  5. Copies of certificates of knowledge of foreign languages.
  6. Evidence of professional, educational experience and scientific activity in general (if any).
  7. Letters of recommendation (if any).
  8. Four (4) ID photos

The Application it should also be submitted in paper form together with the envelope of the above supporting documents.

The evaluation of candidates will take place in two (2) phases: July 16 and September 10, 2020. This will be based on the overall grading (on a scale of 1 – 100) with the following criteria (the weighting factor of each criterion is shown in parentheses): a) the general grade of the degree/diploma with a minimum score of "Very Good" (30%) , b) the level of knowledge of the foreign language (10%), c) the publications in scientific journals, announcements at scientific conferences (5%), d) the possession of other Master's Degrees (5%), e) the relevant professional experience (10%), f) the letters of recommendation (10%) and g) the interview (30%). Candidates with the highest overall grade are admitted to the PMS. Exceptionally and only in the event that the required number of admitted students (up to 30) has not been filled, candidates with a general degree grade of "Good" may be accepted, according to a documented decision of the G.S.E.S.

The Selection Committee will invite to an interview - oral examination those of the candidates who meet the formal and substantive requirements.

The Master Program is self-financed and the total tuition fees are €2,800 per student for all three (3) semesters of study, which are paid in installments in two (2) equal installments, in September and January of each academic year year.

It is noted that two (2) excellence scholarships are awarded each semester (1st & 2nd) to students who obtain the highest marks in their respective courses . Scholarships are given in special cases by companies in the sector.

Additionally, as provided by the provision of Article 35 "Free tuition - scholarships" of Law 4485/2017, 30% of the total number of admitted students are exempted from tuition fees based on economic and social criteria.
